5:58 pm - I bet...
I bet none of you knew that my Sephiroth cosplay weighs about 12.5 kg (or 27.5 lbs.) And all I have to say is: Well DAMN. No wonder it feels heavy.

6:36 pm - IMAF
Is anyone going to the International Manga and Anime Festival in London this weekend? My Sephiroth costume will be on display (without me!) Please get me some nice photographs of it!

12:28 pm - Ugh
I know, I know - I haven't been posting here again AT ALL. I've just been doing absolutely nothing cosplay-related whatsoever. I haven't even been doing anything Final Fantasy related.

Been doing some doll stuff on my other journal, but even then I haven't been posting that much. I guess I'm feeling pretty withdrawn. I don't particularly feel like I have very many friends anymore as I only ever seem to talk to two people. Junta and a BJD friend from Spain.

STILL waiting on my new Sephiroth coat. I hope it turns out to be worthy of my trademarked Sephy-Seal-of-Approval after all this. Still not heard a word from my armoursmith about getting a pair of stainless steel shoulders. I think he's forgotten about me. On the flip side though, there seems to be interest in my costume being rented for display on a mannequin at some point in time. That would be cool - my costume earning money for me without my even needing to be there.

8:13 pm - FFCUK Fate and Future
I don't know if everyone is going to agree or if everyone is going to get up in sentimental arms about this... but I think its time to let FFCUK go. Its been inactive for way longer than just the standard lulls that forums usually get. I've run enough forums to know that. There's also the fact that not many of us are doing Final Fantasy costumes, and it honestly doesn't feel like there even IS an "us" anymore. There's just no group connection or involvement anymore. It all feels very dead to me and it has done for a long time.

I think its time to close FFCUK's doors. Since I own the domain name and I'm the one providing the server space, ultimately I do have final say over this, but I wanted to see what the rest of you thought. I'm not opposed to keeping the domain name and just having it point to someplace different, but as it exists now I think its just deadweight. Its a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless.

10:16 pm - New Wig!
Okay, so I have FINALLY put in an order for the silver powerlon-fiber wig I've been coveting for over a year now. Its going to be completely replacing my other two Sephiroth wigs, so its eBay time for them I think! Apparently this fiber is the greatest invention known to cosplayers. Plus the fact its a genuine 'silver' colour helps a lot too.

This is the unstyled wig:

I'm very excited! I think it looks like an amazingly lovely wig. And it should be given its costing $85 before my deputy's fees and shipping.

current mood: excited

2:45 pm - Amecon Formal
I have finally found and ordered almost all of the stuff I need for my Amecon formal. Its turned out to be quite expensive, but maybe I'll find occasions to wear it all again.

1) A nagajuban (underkimono) with tsuba motif. Tsuba are the hand guards on katana. Mostly unseen, but the Japanese are very particular about the hidden parts of kimono being just as fashionable as the outside ones, if not even more so.

2) Hakamashita (short kimono top) with very large black cherry blossom on a grey field.

3) Kaku Obi in blue-green.

4) Formal Hakama with black/silver stripes, fades to white/silver at the top.

5) "Ninja" Tabi Boots in black with black ume motif socks underneath.

6) "Ninja" Tekkou (hand/arm covers) in black.

7) Men's Haori in black RO silk. RO silk is gauze-like and transparent, so the cherry blossom on my kimono will still be visible through it.

8) Advent Children Sephiroth wig.

Stuff left to get: Maybe a different nagajuban as the one I bought isn't in the best condition and while I love the motif, I don't like how it was executed. I also need a men's haori-himo (the cord used to close the haori jacket in the front), preferably in grey. I think I'm also going to drop $100 on a powerlon-fiber silver wig from Japan because apparently they are heaven on earth and never tangle.

Oh sorry - I made a mistake in my last entry. Its actually 20+ new accounts trying to sign up per day. Probably more, thats just what tried to sign up overnight. This is a problem.

I'm glad I switched the registration at FFCUK to requiring admin approval because its getting 5+ spambot accounts trying to sign up every day now. Congratulations everyone, we're "famous"...

I know I haven't updated in ages. I just really don't have anything to update with that isn't currently BJD related. And of course all of that stuff goes on my other LJ. I keep poking my armourcrafter about my stainless steel shoulder armour, but he never replies to my PMs.

And I got my Sephiroth coat back only for the collar to STILL be too high. Its very upsetting and it doesn't look like it'll ever be comfortable enough for me to wear it on a daily basis.

Blarg.

5:48 pm - DDO
Anybody want to buy two new copies of Dungeons and Dragons Online? Just started the accounts on Friday, so they've still got most of their free month game time. The game just doesn't click with us.

8:38 am - Content Advisory Note
(I'm pretty sure I had already firmly stated this once before... although granted, it had been for the benefit of just casual observers.)

I have an extremely warped sense of humour. The vast majority of the things said in this journal have NEVER been meant to be taken without a pinch of salt.

There.

Shannon thought my last entry was funny. She laughed... she laughed. T'was a nice laugh too, heart-warming and sweet. And then we had green tea flavoured ice cream.

current mood: satisfied

9:01 am - New Gloves
I yoinked a nice new pair of black leather gloves for my Sephiroth cosplay from someone's grandmother on Valentine's Day. To be fair, she had dropped them when she stood up to leave the train and as soon as I noticed them there on the floor, I grabbed them. I tried to play all innocent at first, I kept them ready to hand over to her just in case she noticed they were missing and ran back into view. But once the train doors closed... Mwuahaha. Mine now.

Nonetheless... yes, thats right - Sephiroth steals things from helpless old ladies.

But now I'm faced with the task of getting rid of the smell of hand cream and cigarettes. Fucking nasty. They're great gloves and they were free, but I must find some way of getting rid of that odour. Really they need to smell like blood. Blood and leather. Either that or something random like cherry blossoms.

11:23 pm - Away
Phew. Made it safely to the US after having to take a dreadfully complicated path to get here. It reads a little something like this: Bus -> Train -> Train Switch -> Tram -> Zalia's Floor -> Train -> Train Switch -> Tube -> Airport -> 5 Hour Wait -> 8 Hour Flight -> Shuttle Bus -> Metro -> Metro Switch -> Sister's Apartment.

By the way, Sheffield is a FUCKING SCARY PLACE at 4:15am, in the rain, alone, and with only a vague idea of how to get on the train station. I managed to find a wonderfully gritty little industrial area would have been scary enough on its own without the addition of thugs. I thought for sure I was lost at that point but I turned down a main road and was greeted by a bright blaze of lights from the train station. Never again am I wandering through Sheffield at 4:15am and certainly not while pulling a very LOUD piece of luggage behind me.

Oh, Junta - both your packages are here. I'm going to open them later so I can condense down the contents.

5:41 pm - FYI
I AM going to stop posting pictures of my BJD's to this journal. I've started up a new one for them so that those of you who really only love me for my cosplay can skip the creepy doll stuff. My new journal can be found here: [info]kurosakura_sin

I quite like this if only because I ended up being a very pretty colour and an interesting pattern.

3:59 pm - Blue Moon RPG
Quivet's sci-fi anime RPG has been restarted in a private area at FFCUK. We've loosened up a lot of the rules now so its much more about the narrative and less about dice. We've got a few slots in the team that need filling. This is an ideal moment to join in. (I'm looking at you, Zalia!) A second new player would be great too if anybody is interested. (Emma, maybe?)

8:09 pm - No Update
Nothing much to comment on in regards to my life, my cosplay, or anything else. Looking forward to this coming Saturday. Unless its raining, I'll try to bring along my boy. Speaking of which, since I don't really have anything to update with, here's a bit of BJD eyecandy:
